25/08/06 Sorry it's been so long since my last update, but real life and other stuff has intervened! I hope to get something more up within a month or so... The Roedin Of Pern Forum has moved.
8/4/06 - Roedin Of Pern Forum I have created a free forum for feedback and suggestions on this site, as well as for general Pern/McCaffrey discussion. Its primary function is for comments and suggestions for Roedin Of Pern to be easily dealt with, and to provide me with extra ideas for site expansion. After all, I can't think of everything! So, please, pay it a visit and let me know what you think of my site!
1/4/06 - Happy Birthday Anne! Today is Anne McCaffrey's 80th birthday, and I would just like to take this opportunity to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Also, on 30th March, Pern was a topic on a UK quiz show, called Mastermind. There is a video of this available, thanks to Sran/Sokar, and the questions are available on the Pern on Mastermind page.
9/3/06 - Update! Plenty of new updates! The first one is less directly Pern, and more related to this site itself, thanks certain friends of mine, who. for my birthday, commissioned a sculpture of my logo above for me, out of clay. And it truly is beautiful! I have added a new page to the Pernese Society section, looking at homosexuality on Pern. There are new reviews in the Other Pernese Resources: Review section - of the MasterHarper of Pern CD and Songbook, and A Gift of Dragons. The characters in Ever the Twain have been added to the Characters: by Novel section. The cover and synopsis of Dragon's Fire, the next Pern book (to be published August 2006) have been added to the Pern Novel Blurbs section. Last, but not least, the Links and Links Reviews pages have been edited and updated. As always, let me know if there are any mistakes - or if you have any comments!
14/12/05 - First Update! (and a new domain name!) It has been over three months since I opened this site, and this is its the first update. It has been such a long time due to w*rk and lack of internet at home! But I have not been (completely) idle! To start with, there has been some general editing to fix minor problems which have arisen and an amount of reorganisation. Firstly, I have now got this site onto a REAL domain name - roedinofpern.co.uk! So no more free sites with huge adverts! But the updates are as follows: In the Other Pern Resources sections, the Other Pern Books: Blurbs page has been expanded to include all of the Pern books which are not novels (or short stories otherwise included in or adapted into the novels), and the ones which I own, which is now all bar A Gift Of Dragons and Dragonfire, have been reviewed! Also, the games based on Pern have been added to their own page, as have the authorised Pern music. A new section, Pernese Society, has been created and includes an introduction, a page on Pernese gender relations, a page on drudges and one on the Holdless. Character lists have also been added for short stories: The Smallest Dragonboy, The Girl Who Heard Dragons, The Runner of Pern, and Beyond Between. Last, but by no means least, I have reviewed some of the sites on the links page. I hope that you like the updates, and if you spot any mistakes, or have any comments to make, then email me!
30/8/05 - Open! After much time spent spent since I first had the idea for this site (a good few months ago now!) I am finally satisfied enough to open it! There is likely to be a few teething problems, probably at least some typos that I have missed ;-), and possibly even some mistakes that have otherwise slipped through the net (and onto the 'net)! I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has looked over this site for me, to ensure that as many mistakes as possible are caught early on! Special thanks go to Jax and Claire who caught an inordinate number of typos! (((((((((hugs))))))) If anyone spots any mistakes, factual or textual, please email me!
